BETH
PT & SOFT TISSUE REHAB INTERN

My name is Beth, I am 20 years old, and I am currently pursuing a degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University in the SCRAM program, which stands for Strength, Conditioning, Rehabilitation, and Massage.

I grew up in Wolverhampton, a city in the Midlands near Birmingham. Coming from a sports-oriented and adventurous family, I have always been encouraged to push myself to achieve my best. This upbringing has instilled in me a strong sense of dedication, a competitive spirit, and a relentless drive to achieve my goals.

During the lockdown, I experienced a significant setback when a stress fracture in my foot prevented me from participating in sports for over a year. This challenging period gave me a profound appreciation for the rehabilitation process in both acute and chronic injuries. It also highlighted the mental and physical impact of being unable to perform everyday activities, further sparking my interest in a career within sports rehabilitation.

With a background in sports, particularly long-distance running and football, I have gained a practical understanding of the physical demands placed on the body and the injuries that can occur as a result. My own experiences with injuries have taught me the value of effective rehabilitation and injury prevention strategies, as well as how these methods can help athletes of all levels reach their full potential.

I am excited to begin this next chapter and apply my knowledge and skills during my internship at The Tuning Room. Working alongside a professional team, I look forward to contributing to improving clients’ health and supporting them in achieving their lifelong goals.
